Basket Case was a self-assigned project to write and board a short film. This was an opportunity to challenge myself in terms of visual comedy, writing, layout, drawing, and design, and I really enjoyed tackling this project. Here you can see the final boards, the initial thumbnails, and some additional character sketches.
Basket Case is the story of a Moroccan basket maker rushing to get his wares down to a waiting shopkeeper before the tourists overrun the medina for the day. I was inspired to create this story after spending a month living in Morocco, where the constant flood of oblivious tourists was both a necessity and a nuisance to the locals, and frustrated men wading through the crowds with donkeys, carts, or scooters was a common sight.

As the lead artist at Dreaming Door Games, I oversaw the art direction for the company’s debut title, Golden Treasure. I was responsible for designing and creating most of the art for this project, including concept art, UI assets, in-game illustrations. I also managed the other artists that worked on the project and worked closely with the director to bring his creative vision to life.
These are some of my favorite works that I created for the game, including a variety of concepts and illustrations.
Sprout is a wordless kids’ comic book that I Kickstarted in November 2018 and subsequently self-published in January 2019. The story follows a young girl who must find her own way to achieve her dreams when she can’t get the hang of the method used by her peers. Here are a few of my favorite spreads from the book, as well as the collection of rewards I created for the Kickstarter campaign (including stickers, bookmarks, art prints, and the book itself).
These are some recent pages from my sketchbook, many drawn on-site throughout Europe during a 6-month backpacking trip in early 2019. Materials used include watercolor, colored pencils, and gouache.
Some recent personal illustrations and sketches.
These are examples of storyboards I created on a freelance basis for several local production companies. They were used for the initial idea pitch, and then subsequently used on set for shot references. Clients for the projects included LensCrafters, Consumers Energy, and Ford, among others.
